Champorado

Champorado is a rice porridge that is super easy to make with glutinous rice, coconut milk, sugar, and tablea or chocolate tablets. Champorado is famous to Filipinos as the best breakfast treat in a cold, rainy mornings. With an intense chocolate flavor and the creaminess of the glutinous rice and coconut, it is a guaranteed delight with kids and adults alike!

Chocolate Rice Porridge

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup nondairy cocoa powder
  • 1 cup nondairy milk

Method
 

  1. In a pot, pour and mix all ingredients until the cocoa is dissolved.
  2. Turn on the stove to high heat and bring to boil.
  3. When it boils, lower down to heat to medium-low and stir occasionally to avoid the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add more water if the porridge gets too sticky or to desired consistency.
  5. Once the glutinous rice is done or when it is already soft, pour the porridge into a bow.
  6. Add nondairy milk on top.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
