It’s time for Unleavened Bread!
Passover is a Feast that commemorates the Exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. It occurs on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the first month of Aviv or Spring.
In Exodus 12:8, the observance of Passover requires to avoid eating bread made with yeast, which would symbolize their enslavement. Instead, they were to eat unleavened bread, a bread without yeast which would represent their freedom.
Following the Passover is the 7-day Feast of Unleavened Bread. In Exodus 12:18, the observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread requires to eat an unleavened bread for 7 days.
Passover is a time to celebrate freedom and liberation. Passover also marks the beginning of the Hebrew year. Unleavened bread is a symbol of freedom and new beginnings. During the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread, Israelites are reminded that they are freed from the bondage of slavery to Pharoah and are able to start a new life.
Unleavened bread is a type of bread that does not contain any yeast. It is made by mixing flour, water, oil, and salt.
Unleavened bread is typically denser and chewier than yeast-leavened bread. It can be made with either whole-grain or white flour, and can be enjoyed as a snack, main course, or dessert.

- In a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
- Cut the dough into desired portions and roll it into a ball.
- Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough into a circle.
- Preheat the skillet in the low-medium setting.
- Cook on a hot skillet for about 2 minutes on each side.
